Peru!

Aaaaaah. We made it. :) :) :)

I cannot even express how incredibly excited and grateful I am to be here at my brother's casa in PERU! Last night, (or technically this morning), I just couldn't stop smiling. And this is only the start! We have two entire weeks here and I can't wait to get exploring. Once I fully wake up of course. **YAWN** I'm still a little groggy due to the fact that I didn't go to bed until 3am. And the reason wasn't just my excitement either: here's a quick recap:

Our flight got in at 11:45pm, we made it through immigration with no problems, there were no lines, and I was super excited to get ANOTHER stamp on my passport! It's on the right hand page, across from my Ireland stamp!

But then it took a good hour or so to get our luggage. Once we made it through the final customs check point, we headed to the exit and were greeted with a huge crowd of people waiting to pick people up! I've never seen so many people, especially at 1 in the morning, waiting at the airport! It was really cute. :) Mom was able to spot Brad in the crowd, (I'm pretty sure he was the only tall, red-head, white guy there), and after negotiating the price of a taxi, we were on our way! Mari and Brian, who had arrived on time the day before, were at a cultural dinner show, so we went there first and caught the last couple of dances. It was really beautiful and I wish that I could have seen the entire show (ahem, I blame YOU, Continental airlines). Here's a little from the very last dance. Apparently these two are champion dancers.

After about a half an hour, it was over and we fanagled another Taxi, with the help of Brad's good friends Alex and Rocio, and headed to his casa... which, it turns out, is actually a small mansion that I am completely enamored with. After a quick, 2 am snack, a shower to wash the stench of travel off of me, and of course, a skype session with my beloved (who is in Japan), it was lights out. I didn't stir once until my alarm went off at 10am... and then I only turned it off, rolled over, and went back to sleep. :) Now, it's almost noon and I can smell desayuno (breakfast) cooking so I'm going to let this be all for now...

Buenos días!
